The IAME would welcome you as a member and it is a very easy process to join.
Simply print the application form,
complete the details and mail
to the address shown on the back of the form -
IAME, 11-13 Byrne
Street, Auburn NSW 2144.
If you wish you may have your qualifications assessed on the basis of certificates you hold OR undertake a grading examination. The choice is yours.
Members of the IAME are drawn from all avenues of the Automotive Industry. The following established Divisions are constantly monitored so that any change to the Industry is acknowledged and provision made within the Institute to provide relevant benefits.

Member - is required to have a minimum of 9 years trade experience and be at least 25 years of age. Either hold acceptable exemption OR pass the examination at the level required by Council.
Associate - is required to have a minimum of 3 years trade experience and be at least 18 years of age. Either hold acceptable exemption OR pass the examination at the level required by Council.
A person who has passed the examination at a particular level but because of age or experience deficiencies is not able to obtain that level is awarded a lower grade and is automatically advanced to the higher grade when the age and experience requirements are satisfied.

Affiliate - Corporate This category is available to firms, partnerships or companies who wish to be affiliated with the IAME.
Affiliate - Personal This category usually applies to people not necessarily involved in the servicing and repair of motor vehicles, but in related areas OR to persons who have sat the entrance examination and have not satisfied the requirements of graded membership.
Student - Persons who are presently undertaking a course at a recognised Technical College or Educational Institution.

| Fees & Annual Subscriptions Every effort is made to retain fees at levels as low as possible without reducing the effectiveness of the organisation in representing its members and providing specialised services. To assist in simplifying the process of joining it would be appreciated if the Membership Fee accompanies the Application Form. The financial year of the IAME runs from the 1st July to 30th June and the current Annual Subscription is $108.00 including gst. The following scale of fees applies in the FIRST YEAR of joining depending on the time of year the Application is lodged.
AUSTRALIA $108.00 if joining between 1st July and 30th September OR $60.00 if joining between 1st October and 31st March OR If joining between 1st April and 30th June no fee is charged for this period if the fee for the following financial year of $108 is paid when lodging the application.
NEW ZEALAND $99.00 if joining between 1st July and 30th September OR $45.00 if joining between 1st October and 31st March OR If joining between 1st April and 30th June no fee is charged for this period if the fee for the following financial year of $99 is paid when lodging the application.
