Office of Fair Trading - Motor Vehicle Repairers Section 

 

Motor vehicle repair businesses in New South Wales are regulated by the Motor Vehicle Repairs Act.  The Act requires all motor vehicle repair businesses to be licensed and the tradespeople working in those businesses to be certified.  These functions are performed by the Office of Fair Trading.

The Automotive Training Board, NSW is an industry body, who's primary function is to provide information and advice on the training needs of the automotive industry. The Board provides advice on behalf of the industry to the government on future training needs and industry views on training policy.  The Board is comprised of the major associations (BIA, IAME, MTA, SSA), the union (AMWU), representatives of a small automotive employer, a large automotive employer, a vehicle manufacturer and a training provider (TAFE).

The Construction & Mining Equipment Industry Group (CMEIG) is a non-profit organisation which represents the construction and mining equipment industry.  The Association combines all the disciplines of the construction and mining equipment industry throughout Australia -- including manufacturers, importers, suppliers and service organisations.  The CMEIG brings together a range of associations that can regularly meet to create a forum to make continuous improvements in the industry.
